Jacob Dahl Jürgensen's exhibition at Galerie Rüdiger Schöttle will be staged as a theatrical and museological presentation of films, sculptures and prints. Temporary display structures will guide the viewer through an installation which, as the title of one works suggests, is a hall of mirrors - new and obsolete technologies reflect one another as the analogue and the digital swap places; modes of representation are questioned as they blend into each other, and reveal or obscure their flip sides. Here, the figure of the close-up magician appears as a metaphor for the dissolving of the real into illusion and simulation, and back again.
Jacob Dahl Jürgensen, born in 1975 in Roskilde, Denmark, lives and works in London.
